Anyone using it getting a massive memory leak???

On about 3 different PC's all running different versions of Windows (XP, Vista and 7) after about 5 minutes its gobbled up about 300-400MB of RAM - how shit.

Am going back to IE and Chrome....

the other thing that shits me about chrome is you cant install google toolbar - so I dont have my bookmarks when I use chrome on different computers..... otherwise I would be using chrome for everything and IE just for Outlook webmail...

suprisingly IE9 I find is pretty good with the memory.

Actually you can with Google Chrome, it syncs everything.

Click on the spanner, then options, then sync

It syncs between computers themselves - because I need the bookmarks on work computers it will download them to that computer - I dont really want that kind of info on PC's that a lot of people access (mainly because I have bank account stuff etc etc) bookmarked

Thats the good thing about the google toolbar - you log in and everything is there, you log out and its gone...

can you explain why chrome only has 5 widows open yet there is 11 instances of it running.....

My pet peeves with FF4 is the open new tab thing has dissapeared next to the existing tab, I had to place the icon near the URL...

Also, secure websites don't show the 'lock' or change colour in the URL area to show it's a 'secure' website.... are FF being a bit anal over 'secure' websites?

Lastly, no more status bars at the bottom...

I hope FF5 will be better

Im running 3 at the moment, but im pretty sure i was able to enable the status bar from the view menu?

and for those that hate the tabs at the top, that can be moved back to the bottom aswell (once again, ive gone back to 3 so cant remember how i did it, somewhere through the view menu aswell)

I'm running 4, and I can't find that. Although any addon that used to integrate with the status bar does bring a vestige of it back up, it doesn't re-integrate the standard functions like the display of link URL - that is still 'in-page'.

Yep, that's in the view menu. :)

Just changed to my other laptop with FF4 installed

ah, status bar definitely gone in FF4... however

Use this addon and you should be able to get it back ;)

The Status Bar is now called the Add On Bar. Turn it on via the View .. Toobars menu. And yes, URLs still won't display on there - they sit in a little popup above it. I'd be surprised if someone hasn't already hacked an extension to do it the old way - and they have (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/). Apparently you have to install, then do the customise toolbar thing to drag the status text field down to the add on bar to get it visible again.

just noticed in chrome now too, when you click on the spanner it now has "view background pages"

will show you exactly what is running and what memory its using
