Post Count not increasing

Hi, i have added a few posts over the last couple of days and have noticed that my count is not increasing? Have i missed something? Are there any rules around what specific areas increase the count?

Increasing your post count by creating useless posts in topics that have been dormant for several years just to reach the 50 post minimum to post something in the for sale section makes the forum owner angry. Might be a good idea to stop.
