I call bullshit.

As long as the headlight isn't against any ADRs they have no right to fail it

Otherwise just put the std ones back in for the roady

If they have the correct approval stamp on them, they will be fine, unless you are running HID's etc.

that will affect it. even though the bulbs arent crushed, the tail light housing is damaged and is no longer reflective so they can pin u on that

my friend's Astra G has cracks (hit wall, light housing broken, bulbs are fine)on rear light and the car passed the pink slip check recently.

What is this pink slip bullshit.. lol..

I wish it was introduced in Victoria, would get so many unroadworthy shitboxes off the streets.

"pink slip" ~= British MOT test (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOT_test), right?

If so, then yes, I'd like to see that Australia wide. I'm sure there's some cars in utterly shocking mechanical condition being happily driven around by people who are completely unaware of the state of their vehicle.

It might also do something to curb the amount of black-smoke-belching small trucks I see on a regular basis if emissions tests are made part of the same process.

It'll have a rather deleterious effect on second hand car prices though, as people realise just how much of a liability old shitboxes really are, when they start needing parts every year to get through the test...

haha, yeah I know what it is, just that it seems only NSW has it.

I agree in principal.

Though at times, even my car won't pass- i.e. disc rotors too thin, leak in exhaust, oil drip due to rocker cover gasket, etc
