Looking for a Automatic Transmission Specialist in Melb, preferably SE Suburbs.

Dad's BMW has done over 100,000km.

While, the handbook state it's lifetime filled, I think it's just insurance to change it at 100,000km.

Better than overhauling the Transmission later on at $3-4k.

Any recommendations?

hmmm, I should also look for a BMW forum also.

Just change the oil, it won't hurt it.

I have the specs somewhere for the oil viscocity, if you can wait a week or two, i can get the exact specs for you!!

But TBH, only issues ive seen with those autos have been reverse gear fails, and thats usually after 200,000km+, and in that case, they only replace the gear clutch packs on reverse so not a full rebuild.

Thanks Steve,

yeah I was going to do a Flush, but wanted a recommendation on a place that can do it.

From memory, it has a the Getrag GM transmission.

I've read about the bad design of the reverse gear fault... a fair few incidents reported in America on cars over 100,000miles (160k).

Can't hurt to flush it.
