Hi everyone,

Just bought Sooty's Astra, All I can say is "AWESOME"...

All credit to you Sooty, the astra drives, handles and stops well.

Just one question, do the leather seats from a SRI are a direct fit? both front and rear seats that is.

Regards
Rocketman

Don't think they're electric afaik and the airbag loom should be the same

Well that's good to hear.. ah what has the airbag loom got to do with the seats? pretensioners?

Just the filter and box mate.

rocketman
25th January 2011, 11:21 PM
oh!... so in my case, just filter.

Holy crap... i'm trying to imagine a greenbox connected performance. The word "quick" comes to mind.
Seems to me that i could beat my mate ssv v8 ute, 1.9td with 6ltr power... hmmm sounds good to me. lol

Welcome Buddy :) with a box itll make a big difference, I think its like driving a different car, dont get too carried away though, the ssv wil most likely smoke you unless its a 5 lt vr/vs. Happy driving ;)

Yeah point taken... He does have a VE 270Kw V8
The asta does feel quick and a box would reduce 0-100 time, but by how much i don't know. Plenty for me though. :)

Its not the torque that kills you, its the rev limter :)

Haha, to right.....if only I had the range a petrol car does.....mmmm

rocketman
29th January 2011, 01:43 PM
revs is for sure the big killer... My boss's BMW X5 can rev to 6k, but then again it's $140k worth, you'd expect that.

Anyway, I added some more pix on photobucket but will get some pro pics done soon.

Hi CDTI,
yeah I'm loving it, hoping soon I will get a tuning box for her. Been driving peak hour a few times a week to uni. and the torque is fantastic when you need to overtake some nutter in the right hand lane.

A tuner will help more in this case...

It is great to be in this forum, everyone has been welcoming and happy to see the car again. :)

Well, I don't think it is, when I hold down the clutch pedal the noise is still there, amof I am more thinking it's the diff. As speed goes up the pitch of the noise goes up too.
