its not a small list. main things they look for though.

tyres, brakes, suspension, windscreen, mirrors, seats, seat belts, no structural damage, oil leaks, exhaust leaks, lights, handbrake...... it goes on a lot more but they are the main things that need to be in 100% order.

yes most mechanical shops will do a rwc for you. not sure of the price in your state though, some places will charge more than others.

in QLD all roadworthies HAVE to be $64.25 unless they are a mobile mechanic.
Since they are a Government related form.

not sure where you got that info from.
Some places do them from around $40. I think the price you got there is about average though.
light trucks are usually around $75

i know because our dealership got a lovely visit from Dep of Transport with 15 roadworthies which were $64.50. Every incorrect RWC equaled a $300 fine. Was intense!

They said thousands of people got fined.

Thats how i know that they have a fixed price of $64.25 throughout QLD, unless mobile mechanic.

Sounds about right for us here in Melb. Guy...

Got one done for a friend not too long ago and it was $45 for a straight write up after the car met with no required works to get the RWC...
