The surpise is the engines.... In the USA they get the 1.4T or the 1.8L. Both with 100kw. So there is a possibility of a Barina SRi for our market

GM/Daewoo product

If I am not mistaken the chassis will be used on the next Opel Corsa.

The Chevrolet sonic (the car you have above) is the spark rebadged (facelift). The sonic will be sold in the USA from 2012, which means that the spark will be sold in Australia in that same shape from late 2012.

Dear sir, you need to do a little more research

FYI

It os designed by an australian and was previously the Aveo, chevy have rebadged it the sonic which will be rebadged as a barina. It is a daewoo product

The Sonic/Aveo/Barina is a different car to the Spark/Matiz/Barina Spark.

The Sonic/Barina is not a rebadged Daewoo. It's a global car that will share its platform with the new Corsa and Australian Barinas just happen to be built in Korea. Better than them coming from America.

I really wish people would stop getting their knickers in a twist over the new Holden models and calling them rebadges Daewoos, especially now Opel is coming and you can have the cars you really want.

With a Daewoo badge it's a Daewoo.
With a Chevrolet badge it's a Chevrolet.
With a Holden badge it's a Holden.

They're all GM brands...

couldnt disagree more. an opel with a holden badge isnt a holden. its a rebadged opel
a daewoo rebadged as a holden is a daewoo.

what does that make the sb barina? is it an opel because the engine cover and steering wheel says opel or is it a holden because the boot badge says holden?

To throw another spanner in the works, it seems Daewoo is gone - GM Daewoo will now be GM Korea and the cars will be called Chevrolets.

Honestly who gives a shit

The badge isn't going to change what the car looks like or how it's going to perform

This is the car, this is what they decided to call it, and the type of badge doesn't really mean jack

This thread is a good example of how hard a company like hyundai would have had to work to get respect back after the bad old days of the 80s and early 90s when their cars were rubbish.

In about 10 years time GM Korea/Daewoo will have the same respect as well because their product will be good if not world class and most people would have forgotten things like the nubira and lanos.
