Hey people,

house mate has a 88 supra auto and the gear box has been playing up for ages and he is now in a position to get it fixed
when you take off it revs up like normal but then holds the revs at about 3500 rpm but the car doesnt realy take off that fast then all off a sudden it will slam into second and take off till the next gear where it happens all over again its like its building up pressure.
my question is doesnt anybody know whats happening and anybody know of a good auto specialist in brisbane this needs to be fixed ASAP as its a daily driver

any help is greatly appreciated

thanks
Wade

Send calum a message (username Uno) he has a supra now and knows of a supra specialist in bris.

Otherwise from what your describing it requires a rebuild but without checking it out first hand its a bit hard to say. could be something as simple as just needing oil or a basic service.

Sounds like a fried clutch pack which means it needs a full rebuild. :( I don't know anyone over there but will ask my boss on Monday if he knows someone.

not worth the rebuilt just get another box they aren't that expensive. Jump on Aus supra forums and post wtb thread and someone should be able to help you out
