Holden and HSV seem to be recovering from the GFC.

HSV have announced a deal that the HSV Product will be exported to Singapore and sold through an Importer based there with a dealer network.

Vauxhall have also just confirmed the VXR8 Program will kick off again in 2011 . Scaled down number of dealers with the product but this time rather being based on a Clubsport R8 the VXR8 Will be based on a GTS. Fitted with MRC and the new EDI interface and the cars will be priced from 49,995 British Pounds. Vauxhall have also announced that the will import the Clubsport R8 , Clubsport Tourer R8 and Maloo but upon request and set amount laied down before the car is shipped.

Also there is an article in January 2011 Wheels with regards to the Commodore heading back to the United States branded as a Chev Commodore.

This is great news for the Australian Motor Vehicle industry. things are on the turn arround process now and means Good news for Australian Jobs and export .

VXR8's are available from the following British dealerships.

Only 6 Vauxhall Retailers are authorised as New VXR8 selling Retailers.
Each VXR8 Retailer will be running a demonstrator but following this each car will be a sold order / Factory order with the car being built to order.
Therefore if you have any customers interested in the vehicle please contact your closest VXR8 Retailer below.
Slaters, Colwyn Bay
Picador, Southampton
Bellingers, Wantage
Peter Vardy, Aberdeen
Pentagon, Burton Upon Trent
Charles Hurst, Belfast
The previous VXR8 selling retailers all remain as VXR8 Repairing Retailers.

All the feedback I've read from the poms is that they hate the look of the front end, much like everyone else. And that it looks too rice to be V8 Muscle.

Suprisingly, the car does fall under the lifetime VX warranty!

Wont sell well in singapore at all can say that now..

Imagine the price tags in Singapore... makes our Aust. prices look as cheap as us compared to the US.

This is good news for more Opel coverage, but what would the price points be from an importer to Aust. ??

We have the same going on for NZ to Aust. and US to Aust. for vehicles not available on the market here from those 2 Countries and the cost involved is way over the top compared to those cars being sold through their respective Countries dealerships...

well in singapore it is impossible pretty much to be a cloth interior car all seem to be leather.. a car in the same sort of price range as a v6 auto leather commodore (which wont sell for shit cause there is massive taxes on engines this size, and only people who buy engines this size buy things like jaguar XFs or BMW 330i or Audi A5s) youd be looking at $209,000 singapore dollars probably close to.. (thats in comparision to a new 323i)

The singapore deal has been in planning for 18 months. I believe there is a reasonable demand for the HSV product in Singapore but not enough for HSV to set up there one network so they have set up a Distributorship with an importer in Singapore. Its good for the Australian Ecconomy and for the Australian Motor Vehicle industry. its creating jobs and income for HSV.
