China (or somewhere) has a promotion with Trend for 12 Months trial. It’s fully functional, so the trick is to use the guide below.

http://dottech.org/freebies/19053 (http://dottech.org/freebies/19053)

You have to download and install in Chinese, but once it’s done, you modify 1 file to tell it to display in US English, and you’re all done.

I’ve checked out the links and files to make sure it’s all legit and clean, just make sure the only links you click on are the "promotional page" link which directs you to

http://www.iqushi.com/free.htm (http://www.iqushi.com/free.htm) and once there, either the button for 32 or 64 bit, which will give you a file download from Trend Micro themselves (not a third party)

If you need to know if you’re running 32 or 64 bit, go to your control panel and open System (or right click (My) Computer and select Properties). This will open a new window which will appear different depending on if you are using Windows XP, Vista or 7.

On Vista and 7, there will be an item called System type that will show either 32 or 64 bit.

On XP, it will show 64 bit (or x64) in the product details listed on that screen. If there is no mention of 64 bit, then it is 32 bit (it will not actively alert you to 32 bit for XP)

Same, Trend are sending us another 20 comp copies which should arrive very shortly for our techs to use at home :) We only really deal with Trend though, we avoid the others as much as possible (to the point of doing subsidised cross-grades at renewal time), but I'm dealing with Trend Worry Free and Norton End Point product lines, not the retail packages.

Just thought I'd share the info above for those who don't get thrown freebies like us :D
