Depends on waht LJ wants to do? Whole length or only cat-back?

OPC
26th October 2004, 11:30 AM
yeah ive already got the cat back done so im lookin just from the turbs to the cat...

but this is what ive decided to do...

1st: finish the zorst (with my standard cat)... as my friendly N.S.W. mod told me 2..

2nd: chip the little bugger... as my friendly N.S.W. mod told me 2

3rd: run the little bugger down the 1/4 mile once more to see how it goes

im gunnin for the record (im comin after YOU steven  )

Yeah definately air flow system first. Exhaust & panel / pod etc.. Chip it last as if u do any of the other mods after, you'll need to get your chip retunned with the later mods etc.

good choice yea weathere or not you have to re-tune the chip depends on what type of chip you get, some can be tweaked for maximum performance but i reakon your right zorst first then chip :) then chuck a nice intercooler on for summer :P nah i dunno about the intercooler up to you, does it really give you that much more power?

The car already has an intercooler :P The thing about upgrading intercoolers if you have to nail the efficiency (in CFM) to make it a successful upgrade.

Anyways, I think an upgrade in intercooler should be closely followed by an upgrade in turbochargers

$800!?!? What exactly did you get for your money?
I hope for your sake that a custom dump pipe was included for that price!

IMO it was a good move doing the exhaust first though - having owned turbo cars before I can vouch for it being a cheap source of extra kW, as well as sounding completely different.

If you look at uprgading the 'cooler at some stage, make sure you consider it carefully as Opel would have spent 1000s of hours designing the setup that's on your car now and it's easy to stuff it up!

One easy and cheap way of improving the efficiency of your existing 'cooler may be to install one of more water microsprays. Check out !Autospeed (http://www.autospeed.com) as they've done a few articles on the subject in the past. A DIY spray system could be put together for around $150.

Just my 2 cents

i think your next mod should be a garden pond in your boot, along with mexican walking fish, and mini-errupting volcano.

This is considering you want to win god of autosalon :P

In all honesty, lightweight rims.... strip the interior. You've removed the a/c, why would you need all the rest of the creature comforts?
