Okay guys, well i wanted to buy a DSLR, but ive decided i wont use it enough to justify the price. So im after a well featured Point and Shoot camera. I like taking night shots of my car and landscapes so a wide lens and shutter speed settings would be nice, also 4x optical zoom or more, and around the $155 or under but no more than $200.

I like the look of these models but im open to any other camera that fit my budget. Any ideas, reviews or help would be great.

Samsung ES75.....
Song CyberShot W310.....
Samsung ST60......
Fujifilm XP10 Tuff/water proof.....

I'd usually recommend Nikon but they are pretty shocking at night.

my recommendations would be anything by sony, canon or panasonic for a point and shoot.

I've got a fairly recent model samsung here and my 4 year old nikon takes better photos.

jump onto Teds.com.au and have a browse.
stay away from nikon p&s if you want to take any low light photos without a tripod.

Honestly though. for a decent point and shoot look to spend a bit more than $200.

a relative of mine got one of these (http://www.teds.com.au/panasonic-digital-compacts/panasonic-lumix-tz10-black/w1/i6658801_2320800/)
the photos it took were unbelievable for such a small camera.

and canon ixus arent ;)

imho they are overpriced for what you get

that's why the FH1 is a better camera for the money

Does anyone have access to or know if a new model of the Panasonic Lumix FH1 will be released next year? If so I might be able to get a good deal on a run out model or wait till the new one is released.

To conclude this thread, today i ended up buying the Lumix F3, i was set on getting the Lumix FH1 and was able to pick one up from Harvey Norman at $165. But had a look around the camera section and they were selling a bundle deal Lumix F3, 4GB SD card, and a Camera Bag all for $115. Ill see how the camera goes as i havent read any reviews or information about it was simply an impulse buy. Havent turned it on yet but will give it a good run on this coming weekend when we pick up Nico's WRX. If im not happy with it ill give it to my sister as a Christmas pressy and grab the FH1. Thanks for the help guys :)
