Hi everyone im Marco, im 16 and own an opel corsa 1997 which is at the paint shed at the moment getting a $2,200 paint job, bought the car off my mums uncle it has 40k on the clock amazing as he was old and only went to the local RSL and back.
have just recently put a pioneer headunit and speakers rite through the whole car.
and thats about it, just glad to be on here and happy to meet new people, and cant wait to get my Ps on my 17th birthday which is in about 2 months

What colour have you got it painted mate? I'm guessing it's a B, so i'd say 16"s will probably suit best, but style and colour is dependent on the colour of the car and your personal taste.

went again today they were putting the new windsheild and the rear windscreen that had been broken by an apprentise working there, owell these things happen.

Confirming that the colour of the car is pepper red and looks dam awsome will get some picks up ASAP
also that i pinched a set of rims off my mates car which will be going on it
after they get powder coated :)

looks nice mate. well done. have you got any plans for it yet ?? id highly reccomend a strut brace and swaybars... i picked a strut brace up last night for my gsi (thanks sami) and fitted it and i cant belive how much difference it makes. im able to take some corners at 60kmh now and i would strugle to take at 40kmh before i fitted it.

well strut brace would be an awsome idea
i want some more perofmance in it to, its got 60hp so like what 40 or so kw as you all know under the new laws i can have 200kw ehhe
so plenty of room to play with

if you want to go down the big performance route then either go with a x18xe engine from the xc sri or a c20xe/redtop from a calibra.

Dont use magnetic plates! They will scratch the crap out of the paint. No point in swirl marking a fresh finish!

What are your aims with the car?
Easy to say "I want power" but you won't get much out of them unless you a) engine transplant, b) supercharge or c) turbo it.
Suspension wise, there is a bit you can do.
Shocks and springs really are your choice as to what you want, but try get the right shock/spring combo so that they are matched.
Whiteline front and rear sway bars are great, as is a front strut brace.
I think with a fresh paint job, lower it with some black 16's... it'll look great.

yeah he dropped the 1.8 astra engine into them but he had played with the 1.4 engine a bit before he ripped it out ;)

yeh, but astra Z18xe in mine. only a slightly tricky mod to a gsi, a lil harder for a city or swing. needs ecu ect... the gsi ecu will run the z18xe/x18xe no probs.

haha, well 2 gsi's got the z18xe upgrade, 1 z18 died cause the rear hose failed and i hadnt got the temp sensor sorted yet, and the other city we have here will get a z18 as soon as i sort my new engine out seems i'm borrowing it's z18 ;).

oh and marco, i have a set of 17's if ur interested, has a full set of tyres, but they r too high profile for urs, and 2 that are ok, so will just need 2 more that size.
