Been a looooong time since I've even been on here to look around, never mind actually posting something . . . so, Hi! guys and girls. Hope you are all well.

Here today to announce the upcoming sale of our beloved Convertible. It's been 4 fabulous years and I don't regret one minute of Convertible ownership, but it's time to move on. We are new grandparents now and the Convertible has outlived it's usefullness as fun transport and is now going to be replaced with something more, um, practical(!)
We had a fantastic motoring holiday back in March from Adelaide through the centre of Victoria to Tumbarumba (gateway to the Snowy Mountains), on up to Canberra, down the eastern side of the ranges, back over to Bright and back home. Covered nearly 4000km, taking in some stunning scenery. Heading home, on the last stretch, my wife said, as much as she loved the Convertible she would really like something with more room, higher ground clearance with the ability to go off the bitumen down some of the fantastic scenic tracks we saw through the ranges . . . "you know, stuff like that." Both our cars are unsuitable for that type of travel. Don't plan on tackling the Simpson Desert, but there's lots to see off the black-top.
So, after much searching, researching, talking and shopping around, we are seriously looking at a replacement. In no real hurry, but can see that something will most likely eventuate this side of Christmas.
Unfortunately (or fortunately?) Holden (and Ford) having nothing that really interests us. We are heading to Sydney in a couple of weeks and will see if the upgraded Captiva is on show. Other than that it's all Oriental in our sights. Time to leave the European stuff behind most likely.

So, it's not goodbye just yet. Will be in touch for some time yet. It's been fun and informative, meeting some great people along the way. So thanks to all for that.

And, yes, there may well be a few bits and pieces for sale on here again to suit Astra G. Even a complete, good condition, low km, one owner previously loved car if anyone local (SA) is interested!

Ian.
