its a standard 1.8 astra CD not a sports car!

alot of you are under 25 and just wondering how much you guys pay for your insurance and where your getting it from also what area you from because apparently the prices change ALOT

I'm 19 and on my green Ps. I have a 2001 Astra Equipe with exhaust and $1000 worth of stereo gear. It's all covered on insurance and I pay just under $1500 a year.

with who with who?
man if i can get it to that price i'm gonna b happy as

NRMA. I know i can get cheaper insurance elsewhere but i'm happy where i am at the moment. I'll be changing when i get my new rims though.

Location has alot to do with price of insurance aswell. I live in Singleton, NSW where the chances of my car getting stolen are little to none, so that adds to why my insurance is cheaper.

CJB

yeah I'm with aami too, it costs me at the moment $1482 for the full year on full comp... but I am on a rating six, and hopefully if I have NO MORE accidents I will move to a rating 5 next year, also, aami offer a 10% discount on premiums if you do a defensive driving course... but i was told that only applies if your parents are with aami on a lifetime rating one, which my mum is, so lucky for me.

I am told RACQ are the dearest for younger drivers. And does anyone agree that it is unfair to charge a higher premium for young males then young females? I am not trying to start a sexism debate... just wondering. I mean, I hear their reasons, but it seems a tad bit unfair for those male drivers who are good drivers.

hmmmm ok.. my 2 cents:

I'm 20, live in Melbourne, low risk suburb, clean record... I pay $2005 full comp per year for my Astra SRi Turbo (well, will be paying that when I pick it up in the next COUPLE OF DAYS!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D )

hehehe, but yea, i thought that was very good for a P plater with a Turbo...

Although I dunno if Melbourne is different to other states..

oh also, it was thru Just Car Insurance...

Hope that's some help,

i'm with just car too
only problem is they take their time to do anything if something happens to your car
in my first accident i already had the car back and they rang me up to tell me my car would be ready in 2 weeks and when i said i got it back they were like 'oh'.

Alfonzo

mmm I'm with AAMI.

'02 Manual Vec GL, aftermarket alloys, spoiler, rating 3 (whatever ncb that is, I forget), perfect history, something like $980/year.

Doesn't really worry me. When I hit rating 1 I've decided I'm going to look at an S15 200sx anyway, and I know that'll make the premium go through the roof again, lol.

The joys of owning a fun car, eh?
