HSV is considering developing a hot version of the Cruze hatch, which will be built at Holden's Elizabeth Plant in South Australia from early next year. A Cruze hot hatch would fill the void left in HSV's line-up by the demise of the European-sourced, Astra-based VXR coupe. HSV spokesman Tim Jackson says it is discussing the opportunity with Holden. "We are always looking at options in that space, but at the moment we don't have a solution in terms of delivering what is expected of an HSV vehicle," he says.noooooo doesnt fill the void in my heart!!! or pants...

i would only buy one if they put the zleh in it and somehow 4wd drive train aswell or this new fancy suspension thing the astra will have.. ohh and need 300hp to match the new astra aswel. will it? i think not!! itll be like the proton satria GTi, cool car in its own respect but end of the day its a proton satria with salvaged parts from mitsubishi

im on the market for a station wagon of this class so this would be on my list... there aren't many wagons in this class on AU market really, so far i30cw is on top of my list... corolla wagon gone! lancer wagon gone! ford laser wagon gone! astra wagon gone! i think holden will have "some" success with the cruze wagon.

But that's the point. They are more expensive and are certainly out of my price range

definiately but for me too big, i need a small station wagon in the astra class :) so the cruze might just be the answer, and yes, the $$$ plays a deciding role.

Yeah, mum's car, octavia vrs wagon, hers was $45k, unsure on the others though, thought they were all around the $40k but i could definitely be wrong

his mum has one from memory

and about $32k for the base model according to the Skoda site

http://www.skoda.com.au/newoctavia/pricing-wagon.aspx

This is what I got from the website.

Škoda Octavia Wagon Driveaway Price*
Octavia Wagon 90TSI (6sp manual)
$30,599.10*

VRS is like comparing a VXR to a 1.8CD.

With Skoda as they aren't selling well, i'm sure you could knock off say 15% off the retail price, making them say $26k drive away.

talk to a few different dealers, trying to get them to go lower than each other.
i managed to get $5.5k off my lancer vrx sedan,,, and that was just one call to a dealer far away, then a call to my local.
try to get wayyyyy more added options than is possible,,, the dealer WILL try to work with you to sort something out.
i was trying to get a sunroof included in my deal, i wanted $28.5k with sunroof, mats, and scuff plates.
the dealer far away was willing to do $28.5k with mats and scuffs, but couldnt do sunroof as mits had stopped fitting them with factory sunroofs and it was going to cost about 3k for them to get a sunroof put in. i tried to get mmcs incuded for free instead but it was also a 3k option.
rang my local, and they said they couldnt better it, and couldnt match it, but could do 29.5k, i took it cos it saves me driving about 100km to the far away dealer.
if you live near the city, you should find it easier to get dealers to bargain.

the other consideration for me is the fuel economy, the cruze is 7l per 100km, where as the vectra is 11L, the omega is still 9.3L. i cant justify the price or ongoing cost of these, being part time. for me the cruze or mazda 3 is perfect for what i need

I too thought the VE2 had already been released a while ago ??

Also heard the adds on radio with reference to the VE2, again I don't know what that means ?? shouldn't it be the next letter V? what ever ??
