the cop rekns the intercooler had been installed illegaly..he sed the front crush bar thingo had been cut and hes sayin that will affect the car and airbags if its in an accident and the pod filter was totaly exposed and aparently the occasionally flame out back into the fuel system or sumthin like that...i dont know how much truth there is to it but i wasnt going to argue with mr police man lol

Must have been an old school cop as you don't get that issue with the pod filters on fuel injected cars. Not sure about the laws there but in vic it's fine so long as it's actually attached to something, well with the exception of us only being allowed to have an aftermarket IC or Pod filter, not both.

Welcome to the forum mate.

Nice car but shame about the canary. Maybe look at getting some mesh to cover the cooler or even painting it black to make it less attracting to the boys in blue.

Rory what do you mean by only aloud either a IC or Pod filter and not both? Does VIC roads only allow you one modification?? That seem very strange...

Yeah, spot on for Modifications in Vic. They are a strange bunch down here. http://epanote2.epa.vic.gov.au/EPA/Publications.NSF/2f1c2625731746aa4a256ce90001cbb5/c90ec843f3bbbe8fca256d9f00181c59/$FILE/1031.pdf

OFF TOPIC: wow, very very strict down south just skimming over it, no MAF less tunes (ouch for the SS owners), no enlarged throttle bodies, aftermarket or modifed plenum chambers, larger injectors, EBC's, even biggy back ecu's theyre touchy on. Its no wonder you guys are all about keeping the engine bay very tidy and like using stock parts eg. CDTi air boxes.

Hey mate, welcome to the site, good to see another SRi-T on the coast. Might see you driving around up there sometime. :)

Mine was the only one I'd ever see up there. Gosford and Wyong cops can be real pains but get it sorted and you'll be fine.

welcome to the nanny state...
Instead of "Victoria on the move" on our numberplates, we just need "Victoria - Bend over"
Sorry for the OT, hopefully the car loses the defect soon, i'm sure you'll enjoy it!
What springs did you have in the AH? looks awfully low.

thanks, i think the ah had king springs in it. im not too sure tho. it isnt as low as it looks there (it was kinda on a hill so the back wheel lifted a bit) but its still fairly low tho

I lived on the Central Coast for 25 years and have a house up there and my parents still live up there. I'm usually on the coast 2 weekends a month...In the 7 years of having my SRi-T, I've prob seen 2 on the coast.... :)
