Hey dudes!

Finally got my account verified by a moderator so I can post :)

I have a Holden Astra 2006 AH CDX 5 Door.

I've organised a Bodykit consisting of Front Bar, Side Skirts, a Rear Lip and a Rear Wing!
That will be installed on Wednesday.

I've also got a deposit down on some Dark Grey Katana Ninja NJ01 18" Wheels with low profile tyres. Now just recently I was having second thoughts, should I maybe go for 19" or are they too big for an Astra? I'm aware of the fact that the wheels cant be bigger or smaller than 15mm of the rolling diameter.

Who can I go to in Sydney or Melbourne to get my dashboard colour changed to blue? I don't want to do it myself and can't find anywhere with a decent price.

Some helpful hints would be good.

Thanks.

My car is the 'lightning silver' colour and i got an awesome quote for painting and installing that kit.

I was going to get these wheels:

But now you may have convinced me to get 19" instead of 18"!

Yeah 19"s for the wheels, just means you run a 235/35/19 tyre instead of a 225/40/18.

Ok awesome. Does anyone have a photo of a 2004-2009 Astra with 19"? I was thinking lowering too but at a later stage, right now it's not in my budget...for when the time comes does anyone have a place in Melbourne I can go to?

Heres a photo of my car and the colour, its the lightning silver colour:

Yeah i've got a mate in melb you can go to ($180), although we can probably brotek it and DIY, in which case all you're paying for are the springs (no more than $400) and a wheel alignment.

Sweet as - I'll keep that in mind, thanks a lot dude. Does anyone have a photo of 18" and/or 19" wheels on an Astra?

Cheers.

check member's car section, there are plenty pictures.

go 19'' if you do not mind the tyre price and do not forget to check the loading of the tyre.

Thanks guys, Sorry I'm still gearing myself around these forums. Will take a look.

I would rather spend the extra 400 bucks now to get 19" over 18" as appose to regretting getting the 18s later on :)

Since I'm getting 19", im guessing I wouldnt want to lower much more than 20mm? I'll get the kit on and the wheels and only then will I make a decision about lowering.

Thanks for the help guys :)

i reckon you'd be happy with the 30mm all round of the eibach pro kit like i've got if you want to see what height it ends up, with that kit you're getting you probably couldn't take the sportlines on the front as you'd be ruining your front bar on every speedhump

Thats just the springs though? Don't you need to replace the shocks aswell?

And how much did that set you back?

sooty

ideally, you should replace the shocks as well, but i haven't. The ride is fine and the shocks are still peachy 40,000km later.
Springs were $400 when i bought them, plus the $150 odd i paid for the install

I've got Kings in mine and have no issues whatsoever. Even Ben has driven mine and said the ride was superb compared to his springs. :rolleyes5:

Maybe U had a dodgy batch when U had them.

Thanks for all the replies guys, will keep that in mind. I'm thinking i'll probably go for the eibach pro kit which I can get overseas for about 300 bucks shipped..then maybe another hundred to install it all so only 400ish, not too bad?

Anyway, to my real question, will these wheels fit on my astra?

You might be the reason they don't offer shipping to Australia? haha. I asked but they said no.

I do have relatives in the UK though so I'm going to see if I can go through them.

Now another question is - gmonkey how much did you pay to have them shipped to Australia? I tried to get the package dimensions from the seller but hes not responding.

Thanks.

I'd speak to LMF, they sell the 18" version of those for £495.00 so if they can get the 19's they'd be cheaper than what that eBay seller is selling them for.

To get the Spring installed you are looking at roughly $250&$300... Try DIY.. and save some money XD

That's cheap..

I'm looking at the 19" though and he quoted me 500pounds for shipping....i said thats impossible and he told me to find a shipping company thats cheaper.
Cheapest ive found so far is SEA MAIL via a random business for around 193 pounds.

Who did you have your wheels shipped with? And what tyres do you have?

Cheers.

Tyres are budget sunew tyres they're not too bad just not good in wet or at high speeds.. Myn were sent with dhl. Companies get cheaper rates. Check out www.parcelmonkey.co.uk. They are pretty cheap I find

Thanks for that, they look pretty cheap but their international shipping quoting is currently unavailable :( I might call them and ask.

On my colour car, would gunmetal look better than that silver? I actually think the silver might be better.
