one of my old camera's had built in wifi for file transfer. I found it to be pretty handy as there was no need for cables or card readers.

connecting a cable and a couple of mouse clicks getting too much for ya!? :p

transfer would be slow probably - slower than a cable anyway.

?

I just think of how slow transferring between my laptop and desktop is - so if you're sending across 3-6MB files and theres a few hundred of them, it will take some time...

i have 1 x1tb and 1x2tb hdd hooked directly into my wireless N router via gigabit

card is wireless N so im guessing will be pretty quick, and saves turning a computer on when i wanna transfer stuff over.

ah - didnt realise you had NAS - different story then I suppose.

And I have to admit, my wireless router is a shithouse D-Link thats about 5 years old and the date on it doesnt go past 2007...... should just get an N router and be done with it.
