Of course it's going to beat the RSFocus its got AWD...would beat it even with the same power output !!!

Speaking of which like with the RS it's great to finally see this IL5 putting out those sorts of power and torque figures...300kw and 510nm from factory on a 2.5ltr engine is awesome :D

As for the Volvo itself, personally I'm not a fan of this particular model - rear end reminds me a little of the outgoing Megane and that's one ugly car...

Agree...the 'if' I spent that much on this or that arguement/philosophy is a futile comparison...as Johns pointed out apples for apples...but let me say I'd love to see (and ride shot gun) in Gavs Astra if he did spend 60k on it :D

Having said earlier I dislike the look of this Volvo, being totally honest I would still seriously consider one if they ever landed here in Aust...all that factory power in a hatch with an AWD system, all that's missing for my liking is a twin clutch trans and at the right price, I'd be seduced for sure :)

All depends on the price point...if it were to land here and be priced well over 70k or 80k (which would probably be the case) its bang for bucks value would be eroded somewhat, although compared with an Evo, Sti or S3 price points it still compares favourably...

Audi will soon release their RS3 with the same mill and running gear as the TT-RS, ie. 250kw / 450nm IL5 I'd say this Volvo would be a far closer competitor to that car than the Ford Focus RS...and 'maybe' that's actually what Volvo are doing ;)
