Does any one here know how to get that "chinking" sound when you change gears. Like at the start of Fast and the Furious.

If so where can I get it done?

Buy a sequential six speed Hollinger gearbox, retail for around $20,000, no hope of breaking it unless your running around 600+kw.

hehe...*sits down and ponders when he will win lotto*

So you actually have to replace the gearbox just to get that sound as you change gears??? Well for that price I'll just imagine it every time I change gears then

I think that is what they call in the industry... a sound effect.

Maybe if I hook up a microphone to the inside of my gearbox, and really jam the gear in when changing.....

there's another way, rip out the leather boot of your gear stick and line the outside of the H with metal, assuming the gear lever is metal, away you go!

Its a Fine art Timing Clutch and Gear Selection, Some Times ya pull it off(As I do 99%) Or ya Replacing Syncro Rings and Main Shaft Bearings.
But someone told me if I keep it up I'll break the Shift Linkages, KID Engineering already has a Replacement(Top Secret) Part to replace GM Crap. ;)

Straight cut gears is how you do it :)
(as above)........
Bloody expensive, good luck breaking them, they do suck for day to day use tho!

Thanks mate. Just wondering if it was just a sound effect, but on that audi RS6 video that was posted you can hear the gear chinking away as well.

Same thing I believe.

By the way, if you want the clinking sound, don't use your clutch!
