Lookin at sound deadening at least the front doors on my 5 door AH.

Is there a guide on here on how to remove door and pictures/tips on the best way to apply the sound deadener to our cars?

Thanks.

in my calibra i have used dynamat pro
yes it's a little more expensive than some other stuff
but i have compared it side by side to the cheaper ones and its almost twice as thick.
spend the extra and do it properly.

as for application of it, prepsol small areas at a time.
cut teh sheets into small pieces otherwise it makes it a little difficult to apply.
i had access to a small wooden roller and made it very very easy.

just be careful with the silver backing, it cuts teh shit outta ya hands

Removal of doors is easy.

pull off the tweeter surround ( pull hard and quick to minimise breaking clips)
Torx screws around outside edging of door card remove
lift the grab handle plastic up and off 2 torx behind there
there's a small peice of plastic in the door handle torx behind there aswell
lift top of door card off it's holder along window seal
give it a good hard quick yank
unplug door realease cable and windows cable and that's it

Dynamat now have a new product out that is the same level as the pro stuff but thinner and lighter. Costs little more ($20-$50) for bulk pack. Recommend getting a bulk pack, use the excess on ur boot lid if u have a sub that's a trouble spot and wheel well. Application is with a wooden roller u can buy them at audio shops but bulk packs ussually are supplied with them. Cut into around about 30x30cm sheets cause it's easier to work with and pretty much just roll it on the stuff is like tar/stikaflex it's pain if get it on ur fingers... Use a sharp scapel to cut around edges.

Oh and also mount it underneath ur plastic moisture sheet! I've seen ppl put it over it and they soon come back to find it's all fallen off.
