hey i have a burgundy astra g with standard wheels. just wondering if it was worth getting them powdercoated to a shadow chrome or black?? has anyone done this before? if so, where at?

and should i leave the holden badges on, take them off, or put opel ones on?

cheers,

Cheapest i can remember you'd be looking at is about $250 for all four. And although i reckon shadow chrome would suit it really well, the stockies probably just won't cut it in terms of looks vs cost paid. But that's entirely up to you. If you want, chuck up a couple of pics of the car side on and i'll photoshop them those two colours for you.

As for the badges, that's entirely up to you. I believe you'll have pin holes on the rear badge, so it's either holden or opel unless you pay to get them filled. :)

yeah well someone mentioned this to me the other day, as its alot cheaper than buying rims... something that i cant exactly oford to do lol. i have already opelised the car.. all but the wheels... so was wondering if it was worth taking the wheel badges off?

i will get up some pix when i get home... thanks!

Ah right, sorry, didn't realise you were just talking about wheel badges. I believe you'll also have pin holes behind them if you take the badges out, but may not be too noticeable, especially if they're sprayed a dark colour. New wheel badges shouldn't cost too much, but you may have to get them sprayed too to match.

Crappy shops, but gives you some sort of idea i guess. Personally not much of a fan, wheels are too small, and darker colours just make them seem smaller, although the colours do suit the car colour.

Ive used Brookvale Powdercoating numerous times now (for wheels and for work stuff) and they are fantastic... excellent work and service.

Personally, i wouldnt bother powderoating 15" stockies. Especially if you dont have a spare set of wheels to get around on, as it will take the good part of 4-6 weeks. Plus you have to take the tyres off etc. A lot of effort for stock wheels. IMO, id spend the money on window tint or on a full detail.

As for price on powdercoating wheels... it will cost more than $250. The wheels have to get sandblasted to get the original paint off, then zinced & primed (x2 coats), then powdercoated (x3 coats). All up, you are looking at around $500 - $600. If you do decide to go to Brookvale Powdercoating, make sure you speak to Dean (9938 5042).
