Was at the local shopping centre today, and noticed an AH CDX diesel with headlight washers. Not sure if it had HID's but it did not have projector lenses. Question is, did Holden introduce the headlight washers as a standard feature in their last set of Astra's? And if i want to install headlight washers, i obviously need to change my front bar, but what else would i need to get?

Thanks.

The diesel didn't come as a cdx (just being pedantic), and how do you know it had headlight washers? Did you actually see them being used? Because if it's just the openings you saw then all the pre facelifts have them, nothing behind them though :)

It definately had the CDX badge, and it definately sounded like a diesel.

Regardless of the fact, is there any way to install headlight washers?

On AON there is an electrical guy that went way over the top turning his vauxhaul VXR into the opel OPC. Amoungst the thousands (no exaggeration) of mods he did to the car headlamp washers were one of them, he did say however it was alot of wiring and a huge undertaking of work and cost

And they definitely don't exist ;) only diesel is cdti
but anywho, no, headlight washers were never sold here as we were never sold with afl or any of the other projectors. Yes you can retrofit but it is hugely expensive and an absolute pain going through all the tech 2 rubbish as well as previously stated

If they dont exist, then why does redbook say they do? And why did both me and my mate both see a CDX that sounded like a diesel?

Hmmm, either Holden stupidly changed the nameplate to a cdx diesel solely for 2009 which exists in no other country, as all diesels are cdti's, in a hope to sell more, or, redbook is wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time.
Regardless, unless retrofitted by the owner, it didn't have headlight washers

those r just the covers. there's nothing behind them - cause holden never sold HIDs (washers + auto leveling) as an option in ANY of the astra range.
its easier for vauxhall/opel to manufacturer the bumpers with cut-out already, then to have two sets (one with and one without) for the different models.

if u do want headlight washers, then u'll need:-
1. headlight washer pump
2. bigger washer tank (combined windscreen & headlight)
3. headlight nozzle/jet assembly (1 for each side)
4. piping & clamps
5. relay & fuse to activate headlight washers.
6. possibly a tech2 with the ah astras.

pointless exercise, unless u plan on installing HIDs, n would like to b "legit" with them.

it used #91 petrol, that's why it sounded like a diesel.

Mate the answer is plain and simple there is no CDX diesel and no astras sold in Australia with HID's thus did not need headlight washers. As was correctly stated above the diesel was a separate model designated CDTi. Basically if redbook says there was such a model they are wrong plain and simple.

In my opinion I wouldn't bother wasting your time with headlight washers, If you want to do mods focus on changes that increase performance

Did you actually SEE the headlight washes in use? Just because it has a cap over the spot in the bar where they'd be doesn't mean they have them. And if you did why bother? Unless they've put in a HID kit and felt the need to have clean lenses.

Second. Redbook is the most unreliable POS. Unless you're doing research for a falcodore.

EDIT: Just realised sooty said everything As above. :D

Came only with the hella headlights the ones that turn with the steering wheel. Not available in Australia ever... And impossible to find on the net pretty much. My misses prefacelift had the covers that made it look like there was but wasn't.... Trust me prefacelifts looked like they did but don't and the astra h z18xe sounds like a diesel.. More so if auto

Ps I'm drunk while writing this thankyou autotext

I did get a price on all the parts a few years ago, could dig them up if they're really wanted by anyone (for the g) but honestly it's far too much work and money for what's really a pointless mod..

Afaik you also need a self leveling system (not a dial) for hid to be compliant with ADR
