Hey guys.

Just contemplating purchasing coilovers for my car and am looking at the possibilities.

The logic behind my desire to buy coilovers is pretty much dictated by the fact that I want to go low, but without comprimising the ride of my car. Furthermore, I want to be able to adjust my ride height, in the circumstance that my car may be too low, etc etc.

So, this thread is open to those that have some light to shed on the topic.

To start things off, Ill ask a few fundamental questions.

-What coilovers are available to opels?
-How much are they?
-Are they height only adjustable, or fully adjustable (i.e for track work)?

This topic is open to everybody and any opel.

I thought you were turfing your car?

In addition to that list, there is also FK, KW, Koni (I think)

FK's would cost between $2-3k depending on what level of adjustibility and type you wanted (dampers, etc)

I'd go for Koni,

also consider Bilstien & H&R.

Priced a new astra sri 2.2 at the dealer, and it just doesn't work out to be financially feasible.

I'll be looking at keeping this car for 2-3 years. It's only sitting on 4,000k's anyhow. I doubt the value will drop too much.

According to the link in my 2nd post, H&R's are going for 1500???? Something doesn't seem right, or else I'd buy them pronto!

I have FK Silverline coilovers in my car, they make them to suit all types of opels though.

They are very easy to raise and lower, i have the height only adjustment ones and they are quite good, you can also get the silverline X plus which are height and damper adjustable.

The silverline FK's use Koni inserts.

Ring Derek at European Autotech in Monavale if you want to get pricing for them

Yes thats what they worked out to be. But I think they were only height adjustable. Not fully adjustable. My German is very limited, mostly learnt from Hogans Hero's.

But then there is the cost of shipping and fitting as well.

I am also considering this, mainly for future racing (timed events only). :)

its wise to spend a bit more for German or European quality

buy coilovers with damper and height adjustments, so can adjusted to a comfy ride in the city or slammed for cruises and back breaking stiff for the track.....

Tein HA (height and 16 levels damper adjustment) for my car goes for about 2500 supplied

simple rule i learned
Japanese cars buy jap made parts
European cars buy euro made parts
Aussie cars buy oz parts

I had bad experiences with whiteline products.... they cheap but nasty
