step one:
purchase nitrous oxide kit. :D

http://www.blueraven.iinet.net.au/images/zex.jpg

step two:
mount bottle in suitable place in the boot. 8)

http://www.blueraven.iinet.net.au/images/zexboot.jpg

step three:
run nitrous line through drain plug in chassis to front of the car, (i followed the brake lines)

http://www.blueraven.iinet.net.au/images/zexdrain.jpg

step four:
mount nitrous management unit in perfectly shaped indent in firewall, connect all hoses.

http://www.blueraven.iinet.net.au/images/zexcontroller.jpg

step five:
mount nitrous nozzle into air intake, before the throttle body, but after the air flow meter.

http://www.blueraven.iinet.net.au/images/zexnozzle.jpg
http://www.blueraven.iinet.net.au/images/zexnozzleside.jpg

step six:
mount nitrous arming switch in suitable location. 8)

http://www.blueraven.iinet.net.au/images/zexswitchmount.jpg

step seven:
wire the management unit up to power, earth, switch and throttle sensor wire. if you get stuck, then call someone who knows what the hell they are doing (bassula) and get them to frikkin do it :P

then smile :D 8)

here is a before and after dyno run, trust me, the increase is seriously fun, but not over the top. these figures are at the wheels, so about 175hp is what i am getting from the engine on the lowest stting of the nitrous.

That's quite interesting, nice increase there.

What exactly are the legalities surrounding Nitrous in WA?

I think Nitrious in NSW is legal as long as its engineered! might be wrong though

I think Nitrious in NSW is legal as long as its engineered! might be wrong thoughNope. NOS is illegal in all states of Australian on the road.

Both NSW and QLD have a $10,000 fine if your found with it connected. That said, its a simple matter of leaving the bottle disconnected in the boot, and connecting it when you want to use it.

That said, for the $1000 or so it costs for a simple 50hp kit, its not worth the fines and constant refilling required.

As break said, Same goes for Vic.
Bottle must disconnected when not in Use.
Vehicle must have a Tag on the Rear(Next to Number Plate or Fuel Filler) to Identified if Vehicle is in a Accident.

Failure to comply those 2 rules ends up with:
$10000 and/or 10 months Imprisonment
Vehicle confiscated.

I had a 100hp OZNOS Kit on my Turbo Gemi. Got pulled over after leaving Calder Park 1 night and the Bottle was still connected, Luckily the Cops were Female ;) and She let me off with a Warning :0

this kit cost me $950 (original price was $1300 though)

and i installed it myself on a saturday, but got a mate to do some of the wiring, smply beacuse i knew he wouldnt be able to stuff it up :P

as for the cops in wa, there is no proper/specific legislation on nitrous here, they will give you a yellow sticker, thats is all they can do! this has been confirmed now with 2 traffic cops , and a freind of mines dad who is a cop.

is nos suitable for all cars? or do you have to get ur motor worked to handle it?

R3N

nos basically burns better than oxygen (which is in air... duh :P)

example: why does your car perform better when there is cold air? its bcos cold air is denser and therefore have more concentration of oxygen.

so you put the nos injection after the air intake so it goes into the system where it burns ie. combustion

something along those lines, its late and i'm in a hurry to go out so that's the idiot's(mine) explaination to it.

so answering your question it IS adaptable to all cars, cept there's 2 ways of gettin the injection into your system, i can't remember their names but

Bernard Siong

but with that combustion process, doesnt it stress the block or anything of your motor

If it's installed after the airflow meter, you will find it will also lean out the mixture too i think? Is that right?

Mr Cali

in short yes it will stress out your motoer and possible melt down if too much is injected. With the 50hp nozzle it should be fine with most standard engines, any higher and you'll need to do ur internals

A small (~50hp) should be fine for almost any reasonably well maintained car for the odd squirt. Because you have to remember, NOS isn't something to be used every time you drive... because if you do that.... you'll be going through alot of $$$ in refills of the n2o.

I've seen a few cars run reliably with 75hp kits on them, but anything around the 100hp+ mark will most likely eventually kill an engine. Reminds me of the old story of the Crystler Neon in the USA that some guys hired out and fitted a 150hp kit to it (doubling its power  ). The car lasted about 10 squirts of the bottle.... but it did manage to beat a Mustang Cobra apparently :P

why can i see been a good way to hide it
but that a bad ider .

all nitrous kits advise that their nozzle be fit "after" the air/fuel meter, because when the nitrous hits, it will freeze the damn thing and your ecu will think its minus 100 outside and mess with your fuelling. this is a wet kit, so you ad the extra fuel you need through the nozzle, not rely on the standard injectors to do it .

and yeah.. isnt it nice to have forged pistons as standard, right Mr Cali ;)

and break, i read about that neon !! it was funny as hell to read, because it was a hire car!!!
