What do you guys think of Honda's designs for Mass Production Electric/Hybrid Cars. I personally think hybrid is absolute rubbish technology to start with but just cant get over how awesome Honda's designs are.

The CR-Z is a car that is on my list of something i would acctually buy if price is right!

or even the Honda Scamp looks kinda cool in a vintage 'Mini or fiat 500' kind of way

But if you compare these cars to the competitiors (not including tesla :p) i think they look the best....

Prius = Pyramid shaped crapbox

Nissan Ultima Hybrid = Boring family sedan

Mitsubishi's Cx-3 Hybrid = Lack of new design much? Lets put a new lancer with a swift and put some batteries in it!

Mitsubishi iMiEV = a bubble on wheels, Colt meets smartcar? Also cashing in on iPod style name?

Mazda Hybrid = do i need to really comment....

I mean out of the local jap options it seems to me Honda would win hands down for looks and design creativity wise

Mazda's just looks like a tarago.

I agree completely. Except I kind of like the Subaru... WITHOUT THE DOORS OPEN.

i think the thing i dont like about the subaru the most is.. its just not a proper looking subaru anymore... i think if someone like Citreon/renault/puegeot picked that up, id like it a bit more...

and yeh the doors were stupid idea!

i just cant get over the Honda CRZ though its just sexxy!!

Eh.... For me. I'd like subaru to think outside their usual design. Plus, that new electric makes the Veccy C front end look good :D I'm proud to continue driving a Petrol car.

Plus, considering the first hybrid, a honda was so god damn ugly. They've done well!

I'd rather buy an excel than drive a prius.

Completely forgot about the civic hybrid... Purely because it was so forgettable.

I think the scamp looks awesome. Reminds me of a Honda S800 or Volvo P1800. Rad

Gmonkey the CRZ pictured there is the prototype, the final production vehicle is watered down and dosn't look one bit as good ! do a search there is plenty on it...

I posted it up a while ago as well, but have lost interest now because of the final result...

Also the Prius you've pictured above is the old model LOL, the current new one looks much better and IMHO is the best looking hybrid ATM - but it ain't cheap...

The Volt looks good, but I highly doubt we'll ever see them in Aust.

I could have sworn Holden said they would be here in 2012.

Yeah. your right there rj but lately things like this are not turning out or going to plan especially for GMH...

I'm not convinced until it's actually a happening...ATM I see it as just GMH marketing hype to try and stay in a game where they have nothing on offer thus far or for the forseeable future...

I do hope it does happen, the Volt as said is very nice, but by then however there'll be other new and better ones around from Toyota, Honda etc. so the Volt whether here or not will have its work cut out for it...

I think I recall hearing that Toyota heard about Honda was making the CR-Z (A green version of their sporty little CRX) and so Toyota thought up the silly idea of making the MR2 into a sporty green car.

I think most people are figuring out that in order to sell green cars they have to be very fast and sporty.

to me they dont have to be fast.. but they SHOULDNT look hippy and boring. For example id love to have a Smart Roadster, purely cause i think they look cool! A CR-Z will still have no more power than the everyday runabout civic if not less than one, but the fact it looks sporty appeals to me rather than the dull boring prius. And the Scamp is cool looking purely for its "cult" look like a mini or 500, id never buy a scamp but id love to see them around! :p
