I'm thinking to upgrade my phone in the next few months and I narrowed my desire to these two puppies. Hard to chose, they're both magnificent pieces of gadgetry, but what makes them so different is the OS. My choice is not that much about the phones, they're both great, but rather a WM vs Android decision to make. In fact, the two will be the smartphone flagships for Microsoft and Google, so they better be good! This might be the last chance for Moto, while M$ is losing market share to iphony like there's no tomorrow.
The HD2 will be available in UK starting mid November ($840 delivered here), the Motorola, who knows... Could be another 3 months at least.

What to do?

HTC HD2
Type (http://www.gsmarena.com/glossary.php3?term=display-type) TFT capacitive touchscreen, 65K colors Size (http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_hd2-2957.php#) 480 x 800 pixels, 4.3 inches

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2
Type (http://www.gsmarena.com/glossary.php3?term=display-type) TFT resistive touchscreen, 65K colors Size (http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_x2-2926.php#) 800 x 480 pixels, 3.2 inches

Let's look at the CPUs:
Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor vs Qualcomm MSM 7200 528 MHz processor

No contest here IMHO.

To be honest, my ideal phone right now would be the HD2 running Android 2.0 :)

WM 6.5 is nothing to be "impressed" about IMO. I saw it running at a Windows 7 launch conference and I had it running on my XPERIA X1.

I wasn't too impressed. If you have a look at xda-developers.com, most will tell you it's just a UI redesign - the backend and code is much the same as WM 6.1.

Oh well, I went against your advice guys... Sorry, but I simply hate waiting any longer for what there might be on the market in a few months.
I want my toy now, damn it! An hour ago I ordered the epic 4.3" screen, Snapdragon powered HD2, in UK. It cost me about $860 DHL delivered and should get here around mid November. Let's see what she can do with all those bells and whistles :)
