hi all , i have an 2006 astra
i think some call this model the GTC it's the 2 litre turbo
, so i have almost completed the debadging and opelizing .
parts prove a little difficult to find and most have to be ebayed from UK
i have stage two bluefin map fully decatted and a K&N cold air intake and dropped by a set of H&R springs next hit will be intercooler set up from tophat to turbo then will move to the VXR turbo , injectors and AFM

http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt241/ginjaninjabucket/es_drive12.jpg

will be good to bounce some feedback of you guys/girls as over here these cars arent well known here (can be good can be bad) on what my next mods will be

cheers guys , yes really happy with progress thus far
just recently (well in august) had her dynoed to see where i was at
at a club event and got a reading of 145 kw not too bad
but was a little disapointed with the drop off at 4k apparently its were it dumps fuel to cool turbo (didnt really understand that i just jump in and drive :cornut:)
anyways the bluefin map is a bit rich (ok alot), will get this sorted when i get to stage 3 as its not damaging anything then when i have that done will get it dyno tuned to clean up the curve
from what i here with stage 3 map i will probably get it through thorney motorsport

Welcome! Like your signature... I want one like that :).

Our cars are pretty similar, I've also got the VXR splitter/foglights + OPC grill, but I'm running an EDS map. Interesting comparing the two, I'll let you draw your own conclusions:

http://i29.tinypic.com/fz9csh.jpg

That's everything stock bar intake (I have the 1.9CDTI airbox) and remap.

Was your dyno run on the fully decatted exhaust? Would have expected a little higher, but it's possible the vxr-online rumour that decatting the exhaust costs low-mid performance is true. (Possible due to cats heating the exhaust, exothermic reaction and all that - still not sure if I believe it).

Nice looking car but :) if I do say so myself..

yeah mate signature is from a track day at Taupo racetrack (me attempting a clover) the precat was done pretty much almost as soon as i got the car, the second cat was removed the weekend prior to dyno , also the day before i installed some NGK iridium plugs

I put the forge kit in a few weeks back. Very nice bit of kit and has definately helped with the intake temps. I'd recommend it ;)

well update on this i guess its been a while
i had to replace M32 gearbox like a few already on here, so while out i removed the dual mass flywheel and replaced with Lightened flywheel from courtenays
also because of this i replaced the Pressure Plate and Clutch plate with upgraded versions
The Pressure plate was a Sachs one the Clutch plate organic. So i'm really happy with the response im getting from the flywheel
and now counting pennies to chuck the LSD in very shortly
i am quite interested from any of you that have the Wavetrac or should i go with the well known and trusted Quaife

anyways piccies before they all went in

Upgraded Brakes 2 weeks ago and have been bedding them in slowly and patiently thanks to Greg (GLSRallysport)
RDA Slotted front Rotors In Front and A1RM pads all round (didn't bother with rear rotors)
flushed out old and replaced brake fluid with a Standard Crapco DOT5.1
Heads up for anyone with the rear pads they are a mongrel to fit
(piston needs to be spun and pushed/clamped at the same time)
assume there is a tool for this however i did not have one :)

bloody grippy as hell from first impressions and very happy with results, hopefully going to a Hampton Downs Track day on sunday
give them a good testing and fill you in how they go under a bit of pressure

All good mate will be a few types of cars, got few mates with good range
2006 Megane R225, 2004 Clio, 98 Cyborg and Maybe Mk5 Golf

The day starts at 9am and goes till 4pm.

First session of the day consists of road speed familiarization lap's which all drivers can take part in (passengers are aloud).
Following this there are 13min sessions during the morning alternating between road and race cars(Fast and Slow).
After lunch it is a open pit with a maximum of 30 cars out on track at any one time.

-Passengers will be allowed in cars (excludes convertibles) but will have to sign an idemnity and will have to wear helmet and overalls.

so maybe able to chuck you in for a lap if we can find you a helmet and overalls

had great day at Hampton Downs today
wet start but it made it so much fun

bit of carnage happened in the morning
familiarization someone crashed into a wall
and a E30 wiped out an reversed into a wall

main thing was astra was brilliant flywheel helps it go
through the gears so easy

the rda front rotors with A1RM pads got punished
and stood up no problem at all
so very happy with them and would recommend

onward and upward , need LSD and decent tyres
these I felt were my downfall
