dells are not usually a bad deal. Just keep a look out on their pages for daily specials as you could get a significant discount.
the alienwarez computers are hot though.

dell are pretty good, but not the best for expansion, and their customer service is pretty ordinary.

There's a free upgrade to Windows 7 with that PC.

Hang on, are you talking about touchscreen shit??

not a bad price. you could probably save a little if you got rid of that monitor and shopped elsewhere for one.

i just customized a comp on their site: no software other than basic o/s, no monitor. Online Price $7,080.60

So what new hardware is coming out that's worth waiting for? TBH, I'm not after fancy crap, don't need Blu-Ray, just want a decent machine with some grunt and a big ass Full HD screen :D

I always check out the specials Dell faxes to our work. At first glance the deals look cheap but personally I think they are quite expensive considering the package deals are basic and out-dated.

Its a nice PC with a good screen, but the video card is a bit underpowered..... If you are going to play games you might want to upgrade it.

If it's an option, it's worth paying a little more for a GTX 260/275 or ATI 4890 or better.

Cheers

OK, so I decided to spend a bit more and upgrade some of the spex:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-920 Processor (2.66GHz, 8MB)
Dell(TM) ST2310 23" Full HD Widescreen Monitor
8GB (4X1GB/2x2GB) DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz Memory
1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive with Native Command Queuing
19-in-1 Hi-Speed Media Reader with Bluetooth(R) 2.0
16X DVD+/-RW with Dual Layer Write Capabilities
1024MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GT220
Integrated 7.1 Audio

$2499

How's that for a deal?

I just basically want to upgrade my existing PC which is about 5 years old. I want a big monitor and get back into PC gaming without going overboard.

I'm sure there's someone on here who lives in Sydney who could build a pretty good PC for you for that money.
