Cup version:

£21,995 buys you an entry-level Mégane 250 Cup, which gets a limited-slip diff and stiffer anti-roll bar, springs and dampers compared to the standard 250 as well as grooved brake discs, red Brembo calipers and some rather smart 18in satin black alloys wrapped in 235/40 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 rubber.

+ 1

I too like it, even from the 1st thread on this thing a while back...

U.K pricing would equate to 'about' $48,389 here, then there's options and ORC's - pricey...

But can't judge until we know all (if it ever comes over here) at least it's got a factory LSD :)

Thought this might help, more info:http://www.zercustoms.com/news/2010-Renault-Megane-RS-price.html

i do like, but seems expensive... what are your other options for the 22-24K quid mark?

In UK prices the Cup and Lux version is cheaper than a base spec Golf GTI. About the same price in the UK as a MPS3 Lux.

Hmmm.. from these pricings in the UK we pay over the odds for the MPS3 and get a bargain GTI!

Went from last model having a good front and poor rear, to this one having a good rear and a poor front. That is ugly as sin front on. Has a mouth like a 3 that's had a stroke.
Just did a quick shop and personally i think it's much, much improved!

Looks great except the front needs some tweaking... not sure about sooty's revision either. Have to see it in the flesh :). So much better looking then the last one, and should be a real performer too.

Anything else out there that's just under 50k before ORC's, which means heaps !! :)

Anyone who has driven a Renault Sport car will appreciate this will be the best Hatch in its class, best hatch short of a Clio RS maybe. It’s hard to explain, they have to be driven to be understood.

sorry man but I reckon the original is a bit better, because more black means that the "smile" (which I absolutely despise on any car) is less noticeable.

if there wasn't a smile though I'd think your one with the white would look better.

White with Cup Chassis, Tom Tom and Recaro's for me. Check out the Renaultsport display, very trick.

About time this thread got revived considering the discussion on One2haves' thread :)

This car should end up being a hit everywhere...every single review/report I've read on it puts it at the top of the hot hatch segment in its class (with regards to power/performnce/handling and driver appeal) and it even outshines more expensive and more powerful hot hatches in some or many ways...

If it lands here priced similarly to a Golf Gti - it'll become a popular choice for sure :)

BTW Apex, I reckon that info display is pretty cool too...fringe benifits of Renault owning Nissan and borrowing 'gadgets' from the GTR's parts bin :D

Looking forward to see what the higher power spinoff variants from this car will be like...

Fringe benefits owning a F1 team.

EVO dynode it and it already has 270BHP, I have a feeling the spin offs will be lighter and more track focused and they won’t and don’t need to make it more powerful.

Yep, its top of its class, even beats out the Focus RS. It. The RS250 doesn’t have the biggest power or the greatest accessories nor is it practical, cheap or built well it’s the best simply because it drives so much better than anything else.

Speaking of Focus RS, I had a look at a few last night (Top Gear are in town) and I wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be. Easy decision for me when it comes to my next hot hatch.

nice car, bit as with most renaults, will probably spend most of it life in the dealership getting fixed :)

Because Opel’s are built really well :rolleyes:

All and all they are equally shit except you get the pay off a properly good chassis in a Renault.

Biggest problem I have with mine is that Renault design everything to be fixed by Renault trained people and their computer system locks out nearly all privet garages, this makes having a small job done impossible to do unless you go the dealer. Parts are quite expensive also.

270BHP that's well over the quoted 184kw...hmmm no wonder it's quite the performer, still there's lots of mention of even more powerful future variants, alot of the reviews I've read all state that the chassis and running gear can easily handle or do with more power, will be interesting to see how this new Megane RS evolves...

Agree with you on the Focus RS regards its looks, it dosn't appeal much to me either, those nasty looking bonnet vents or slits or whatever they look they they came from super cheap auto shelves...but each to their own, overall too boy racer looking for me...

Seriously owning an Opel, you can't possibly make that remark on other brands...

Maybe some Renaults of old have had their problems in this regard, but it still needs to be seen if the newer ones will be much better in terms of reliabilty, as with all new cars these days of all brands, they're getting better and better, only time will tell if Renaults have also improved :)
