I was Checking http://www.hsv.com.au/hsv/home/ to see what an Astra HSVVXCR looked like.

I was looking at the pictures, and the interior picture of the Dash and steering wheel showed the OPEL LOGO still on the steering wheel !!

it was something to do with the rebadging of the car i think it was something like holden not wanting to change the steering wheel badge because they have to do some sort of testing on the airbag so they left the blitz where is was lol i cant remember but its something like that

to create an airbage with a smaller hole to fit the HSV badge (which is smaller) was not cost effective. So they didnt bother. Thats what i was told.

i looked at ordering one myself, u need a VIN number of a HSV to get HSV parts from holden (thanks carsales ;) )and also they quoted me around about $1800 for one, i laughed and went no

Exactly right, they would have to get the ADR's done with a different badge so wasn't worth it considering the number of sales they were going to do.

Don't see why they couldn't have just got their Holden airbags which they had already and just stuck a HSV badge of the same size in it's place :P... Not that i'm complaining! though ;)

We even got the OPC dash as opposed to the VXR dash due to the poms being in the dark ages and still using the imperial system :p Mind you, the OPC dash looks better anyway :D

Definitely! If HSV came out with their own dash, they would have made it red and white to match the VXR's from the UK.

Yes, it's the car with the triple identity, this has been discussed many times before when the VXR was 1st introduced...

It's like superman flying overhead

Is it an Opel, an OPC ??? no it's a HSV or is it...

Very true about the airbag testing. To get a crash rating they would have had to spend tens of thousands of redeveloping the badge.

I at 1st wasnt a fan of it but now it dont bother me. You could look at it this way. Its showing the cars heritage. Even though ever one here seems to think that OPC have all the say in the OPC / VXR range the truth be known Vauxhall have a lot of say in the VXR as the Market in the UK for the VXR range is one of the largest in the world.
