The 2010/11 Chevrolet Agile could be seen here in Australia as the next Barina. It's based on the Gamma II platform which underpins the Opel Corsa D and Fiat Punto. It's expected to be fitted with two small 4 cylinder engines, possibly even a 1.6L Turbo. The Agile is intended to replace the Aveo which is essentially what our current Barina is.
Here's initial sketches released by GM.

Nice...:)
The bonnet and headlights look 'almost' identicle to those of the new cruze...
So is this something from the Daewoo works in Korea or from the U.S. :skep:

Turbo power would be great :)
But all depends on how big it's going to end up being...you know the trend each new model bigger/heavier than the last, this new Barina might end up being as big as a current Mazda 3...

Agile must be tongue in cheek, like the older Suzuki Swifts.

No it's not.
That's the GPiX concept.
Only styling cues are being taken from that...

That's an 'artists impression'. And it's not the car that the sketches are related to.
The sketches released within the last week are related to the Agile/Aveo/a few other names. No one knows the name for sure.

This is more likely the car related to the recently released sketches...

Yes... in terms of styling cues. ie. headlamp design etc.
Those sketches are 'inspired' by the GPiX. They also say it's design is inspired by the Cruze as well...
It does get confusing as names are being used for one vehicle and then also another upcoming vehicle. But at the end of the day they are two different vehicles.

if the finished product looks as good as the sketches it'd be a welcome change from the ugly daewoo kalos.
