Here's a question for you Boys n' Girls...

Considering the very real spectre of Holden replacing its future Opel Lineup with whatever trash it can substitute from Daewoo, I can't help but feel alot of you would do exactly as what I would do. And that is purchase a realistic alternative to a Barina, Astra, Vectra...whatever.

So, I've put together a little poll with a choice of similar sized hatches that are on the market at this moment. They may be a tad expensive, but Hell, I can't think of anything else. :(

So what would YOU choose?

If there's any model that I've missed, tell us about it.

Results should be interesting.

Dazza, an XR6T was my choice when I was due to replace my Astra SRi in June this year, but lack of 'standard' items - options and high cost (2 times the SRi) meant I kept the Astra - if you have the cash I guess....

shame on your for who ever voted A class/smart forfour/anything other than the 1 series

Actually Seus, I was the one who voted for the Smart Forfour, since I had the pleasure to test-drive one recently.

I'd also invest in a Smart-Fortwo for city driving if I had the brass...So european...So sexxxy! :P

If you ever travel to Europe and witness for yourself the hot european chicks driving these cars, you'll surely know where I'm coming from. :P

Salivate over the pics below!...

When I was travelling around in Europe in July/August, I would play a game with my co-driver while driving or walking thru town - spot the Smart car!!! or Opel Astra with body kit, SRi or Coupe.

Also, I withdraw my vote for the C3 - I meant C2 Sport - it rocks!

Bring on the BMW M1 Should be around about $80k max hopefully.

By the time I save up for it my Astra should be clocking up about 200,000 km's

Mini Cooper S... no way

Mate has already had a new gearbox and a new supercharger and the car is <10k Km old.

woody

the cooper s is WAY too expensive for what you get - if you want the performance pack (the john cooper sports pack) you'll end up paying the best par of 65k for a car that gets ripped by many many cheaper cars.

A WRX. Just stirring.

Well, I chose the 1 series, considering the rest are all FWD (not a big fan of FWD  ). Pity there is no options of bigger engine than the 2.0l in the 120i.

But the M1 would be nice. Considering that M3 is $130K, the M1 should be sub $100k.
