two and a quarter inch from the cat to a sixteen inch chambered sports muffler with a tip of your choice. Probably cost about three hundred if that

boo hiss, mettams are dodgy.
sorry if you got yours done there, but they are really lazy and stingy, yet charge you top dollar. they do really poor quality welds. and im pretty sure they use mig.

IMO go to grapnel carline, and yeah 2.25" a 12" resonator and as happy said, 16" straight through. id also just get mild steel, unless you can see extensive engine mods in the future, same with pressed bends, unless youve got big plans, just go with them, no need for mandrels

Went to get my catback system priced by a proffesional and he said dont go 2 1/4 go 2 inch cause you'll lose power and that was for my astra ts 02 considerations really i dont wanna lose throttle response its low as it is =( B> turbo

2 litre engines and under I would recommend 2 inch but for 4 cylinder engines above 2 litre I would use a 2¼ inch system. With a good 16 inch chambered sports muffler there will be plenty of back pressure.

i would recommend a good quality rear muffler. Wont be too loud and wont attract too much attention. Cat back exhaust is a waste of money, it wont give you any performance in a 1.8lt.

Getting my little 1.8'er in tommorow to have a look at for a cat back and duel exhaust (for the body kit) I'll mention 2 inch like you guys said. Let you know of the progress.

all ya need jason is to change over the stock back box, its really restrictive and dulls the note badly!!! noticed that the exhaust note sounds good near the engine and low revs but sounds like shit by the time it comes out, change the backbox and problem solved :p. But yeh 2 1/2 id do as ultimate maximum and more than that is for the turbo boys

A 2 inch hotdog after the CAT (whose outlet is under 2 inches, so it is the major restriction), then a reasonably big bodied straight through muffler in the back. Low restriction after the CAT so performance & fuel economy will be improved. Expect to pay $300 - $400.

anything more than 2 inches on a NA car is really a waste of time.. you will acctually lose performance but...its whats inside the cat is the major restriction a 2 inch exit pipe is fine for a NA.

not on a 2.2, or a v8...

Even on a 2.2 I think anything over 2inches would be no gain. Bigger you go the slower ur gases will move when u get to a certain volume benelli's law I think? All about venturis and shite. Yes chris filth indeed
