lol, sounds like a scam to me.
why pull apart a ecu...all you have to do is remap it.

So what is the actual increase of this chip over stock on the 1.8 if it provides 98kw and 184nm ???

That'll answer the question as to whether or not this chip's any good...

about 20nm and 13kw - they are realistic figures :yikes:

If that's the case, then the figures are indeed realistic, so it's not a scam claim, unless it dosn't work altogether - that's a different story !

Cost of the thing is also a different story, individual choice if it's worth it or not...but AFAIK other performance chips out there from reputable companies such as PowerChip have very similar power gain chips to this one and are asking ALOT more coin than around 120 $AUD !

Just a thought ;)

had no intentions of buying a chip just a random ebay search :)

That's fair enough :)

I suppose to answer your initial question, based on power increase claim and cost, looks like the answer is no - this isn't a bull**** performance chip...

But of course unless you can speak to someone who's actually tried one, don't hold me to that LOL because if it dosn't work at all we're not to know...:)

His feedback seems good enough; we'll see what Matt has to say I reckon.

It looks like it just dials in more ignition advance. Stock Astra is tuned for 91 octane budget fuel. If you run the good stuff, 98 octane, then you can crank in a heap more advance. Expect about a 10% improvement in peak power, and nice part throttle gains, but don't even dream of ever feeding your baby anything less than 98 octane fuel...

the chip looks like they have desoldered it from a standard memory stick and put a sticker on it...

That's the case for ANY remap or chipped up jobbie from ANY supplier - they always state to use 98 proof :)

Could very well be a reprogrammed stock chip ??

I've seen some of the 'swap over' chips used by PowerChip and it's the same thing...don't know if they buy them from a supplier or reprogramme 'handed in' chip sets ??
