New Astra (H) Perfromance Drive Day

My wife got a letter from Holden inviting her to test drive the new Astra, and VZ Commodore SWB and LWB model range at Sandown - so of course I am going instead.

It's being run over 3 days, 2 sessions a day from Thursday 30/9/04 to Saturday 2/10/04.

If anyone else is going, I've booked into the Thursday arvo session.

Will take lots of pictures...

sounds terrific those new VZ's are such a difference you will love em, test drove one the other day and you can DEFFINETLEY feel the difference

I had a quick test drive of a SV6 with the 5 speed auto..

Very nice thing to drive. Very firm ride though. The brakes have a lot of freeplay before they bite.

I wasnt that impressed by the engine note.

I was just thinking, maybe I can dump the missus' car there as an Astra "classic" featuring a special edition corrupt Simtec ECU and get away with an SV6...

Well if the Holden people running the day have the same amount of intelligence that my Holden dealer service department has shown to me in this whole ECU debarcle, I probably could get away with it... :x It has now been 4 business days and they still have not got back to me with a quote for a new ECU.

I got the Oran Park invite but it was sent to my parents place instead of mine...will have to call later this morning to see if I missed out (I'm assuming I have by now!)
