Yes I know its pretty much a ford v holden debate

im looking at doing an upgrade on my machine
will be new ram, new mobo, new cpu.

im still undecided wether to go one of the new amd black editions, or one of the new intels.

it will be minimum 3ghz quad, 8gb ddr3, then a mobo to suit.

Why do you want 8gb?

These are the components I would be buying right now If I was looking at building a new system.

You can clock the intel quads up quite high as long as you have some decent aftermarket cooling strapped on to it.

As far as an AMD system would go I have never built or played with their equipment - So I can not offer advice on a current setup using it.

I look in vain for where you mention a price range...

If you have infinity dollars though definitely go intel. Their top of the lines beat amd's top of the line handsdown :)

If you have a budget, that can be a different story. :)
