Hi all, just took my 2.2 Sri into Holden as my tcs and abs lights kept coming on whilst driving. Turns out this is a speed sensor issue in the front left wheel which I was told was expensive. I told them the car was still under extended warranty so it was expensive for them not me only to be told electrical components are not covered. Now here is the useful bit, the speed sensor is an integral component of the bearing, which is mechanical and as such covered by warranty. Now I get my car fixed for free rather than paying the $1080 they said it would cost.

Moral of the story, always question what they tell you, could save you $$$

Yeah cheers, s'funny the only two problems i've ever had with this car have both become evident after i took it in for a service, this one and a few years back the head mysteriously developed a crack and had to be replaced after a service.

Have to say though the service manager (Noel) at North Shore Automotive (Formerly Hunter Holden St Leonards) was especially good and helped me get to this resolution.

that was the same with my local holden dealer with Mums rodeo.. it had a fault come up and when checked it was the Fuel press reg and upon asking if it would be changed they said "oh its quite common usually they sort themself out and never do it again".... Lets just say it went in the following week to get changed haha

Mate can't afford anything else right now.. or i'd be in an Audi RS5 :D

The Astra is still tops apart from the bumps and scratches all round from bloody mums in their 4x4's dropping the kids of at school each day! gits!

(FYI i live opposite a school, i know.. not the brightest idea!)
