To all the guys who are doing the 1.9 air box mod has anyone tried, with their original airbox, turning the lid of the box the other way with the entrance facing yourself?

Just had a look and its a perfect fit!

Comments are welcome....

..makes the air flow through the engine backwards.

It also allows you to run your setup without the cross-over pipe

Yes we know of the 2.2 and the Veccy VXR airbox aswell, just was asking if anyone had done this before.

I will give it a go next week when i have some time. Ive had a good look and cant see why it wont fit.

Tried this yesterday while I was changing the oil and I doesn't work, well for the standard G SRi-T box anyway. The lid sits too high and the bonnet can't close, so I guess the 1.9 box is still the best option.

Cant we just get the lid of a 1.9 or a 2.2 box and clip it onto the SRI-T bottom half?

Or is the sizes different?

I'd go check but the torx screws are a nuisance... I can say though that the 1.8 air filter won't fit in a 1.9cdti airbox. They're just different enough to make it not fit >.<

The 2.2 filter will fit in the 1.9 box, but the lugs for the lid are in different positions.
