why so much, is there a problem with the kit ?

should cost you about $1000 of not less, take it to jetspeed or call them and ask them, mine is being put on right now by my usual panel shop, want me to ask them when i pick it up ?

or try TCCA notorsports, they sell reiger but i am sure would help you out !

who have you tried ?

macca
9th September 2004, 05:27 PM
tcca gave me a company

they wanted 3500 that was for kit and smooth boot and bad boy bonnet

SSV wanted 3500 and maybe more that was the kit alone

Tcca dont fit kits which sucks!

Nah the kits PSG just you never know plus its the only one that i know of in AUS atm

if the kit doesn't fit easily on, and they have to modify it clightly, then because its fibreglass it can break really easily.....thats why they wanna avoid it

Jackson
9th September 2004, 05:49 PM
that's it i think, they quote high becase they don't want to do it.

i will take a pic down and see if my guy will do it for you for good $$.

macca
9th September 2004, 05:50 PM
well wtf are the kits made of here?

cheers jackson ure a champ

Jackson
9th September 2004, 05:53 PM
yer my guy i have taken every single car i own'd to at some stage or another so he's pretty good, they are not specialists or anything but i think that might be a bonus in this case.

they are doing mine right now, it's a fiberglass one that they had to alter slightly so you might be in luck.

will let you know !

yeah bodykits made from ABS plastic are able to sustain more force and are much easier to fit onto cars.

if you hit a concreat slag (you know the ones in carparks) then fibreglass can easily snap, where abs will bend then bounce back into shape. much like out bumber bars!

macca
9th September 2004, 05:57 PM
o damn o well wot can u do i think u agree its come thousands of miles so its gotta go on!

Jackson
9th September 2004, 05:59 PM
yer + it would have cost you thousands more to get one made out of abds plastic, fibreglass is still strong !! and it can be mended.

so don't worry just have to be a bit more carefull !

I guessing that the reason they are quoting the high prices is because paint shops dont make much money from painting and fitting kits. There is a fair bit of prep work involved especially in some fibre glass kits. They would rather do resprays, thats where the money is at.

It's very hard to get an acurate quote over the phone cause they would need to see the kit it self, to make sure how much work is involved.

I recently hooked up a friend with a Calibra to get a full respray in the same colour for $3000, they even added a gold pearl in it for him.

Becarefull with Jetspeed, they dont do their own painting but recommend you to a place, I've seen some pretty dodgy work.

So call Louie and tell him that Tai sent you.

nps Macca.
Saw your kit there last night looks nice, but the kit isnt great quality. Making a mould of it would be your best bet, you may make some money from it too. You going to do the bonnet aswell??

macca
14th September 2004, 04:40 PM

Mr Cali
15th September 2004, 12:01 PM
its in the spray booth today, they are doing the base coat atm. Still heaps of work left on it, I have too many mods happening at the same time :) so it will be at least another 1.5mths before I get her back.

Shaved door handles, nice. will you be using actuators to open the door?

PilkyGSI
15th September 2004, 04:32 PM
