well to do real HDR takes great patience 100s of attempts, great location, camera that does RAW imagery (prefferably). And the use of different exposures.

Im waiting for my bodykit and then ill find a nice place very senic and do photoshoot. and upload some real HDR images, but maybe waiting for a while as bodykit might be few weeks maybe month or so:p

Pics posted thus far are mostly they just are a 'cheaters' way mostly... the idea of a HDR is to get parts of a photo with diff exposures and mix them to make one sweet looking pic where it has good quality in highlights/shadows and midtones

I'll have to disagree with you there. All you need for a 'real' HDR image is to take as little as 3 photos, depending on the subject. Can be done even with a P&S (as long as you can play with exposures) and a tripod. The simplest is to take 3 photos, one at -2, 0 and +2 exposure (play around with this, can also be -4,0,+3 etc). Some new dSLRs also have a HDR mode where it takes 3 shots at different exposures when you press the shutter release once.

Taking a single image and making 3 copies playing with its levels are NOT HDR, it simply does not have the dynamic ranges required for an HDR image, hence the name

well its not the best subject but you get the idea...

take a few pics of the same subject, first at proper exposure then a few under and a few over... i did EV 0, -3, -2, +2, +3 but for my HDR merge I only used 0, -2, +3

Photoshop do have it, but Photomatix allows you more control on the various levels.
