Engine will fit, but you'll need a gearbox, 2.2 diff gearbox, not sure which 2.0 you're referring to other than the turbo which has been addressed in your other thread......

as said, will bolt in fairly easily, there will be a slight issue with the front engine mount, as the veccy motors have a completely diff type of engine mount, and both it and the astra engine mounts incorperate the timing pulleys into them ;).

but can be sorted pretty easy :).

as for wireing, ecu ect, not 100% sure, might be ok to just plug it in, might not.

some of the 2.0L cali's had the x20xev (like poita's)
the veccy b, has the c20sel - 2.0L and the c22sel - 2.2L.
the z20let is the astra turbo 2.0LT.

alright in my car i have z18xe (1.8L).. im waiting to put in either an x20xev (2.0L).. or Z22se (2.2L).. not gonna worry about the z20let.. just waiting too know if i can match the engine too my current gearbox.. i know ill need the ecu but everything else should be fine shouldnt it?

2.2 has a different gearbox, unsure of the x20xev, but seeing as it's a much older car, i'd assume the gearbox would be different too...

Seem to be repeating what's been said in the other thread, but seems like a waste of time!!

Slyopel is a good example of what is capable out of the 1.8 you've got....Turbo!!!

the x20xev was in the veccy too, but dont know when.

the z22se is the sri motor, it's a chain timing ally motor with the starter on the other side, needs new gearbox, ecu def, wirerin ect..

the C20SEL/C22SEL/X20XEV should bolt upto your gearbox, less some clutch differences.

the x16xe small block in the gsi barina will bolt upto the same box as the sri-t big block ;).

cant remember what ur engine is again, X18XE or Z18XE??

it doesnt cost much to rebuild, but you could easily upgrade too, keeing in mind the incresed capacity of the motor and engine number means u need a mod plate.
and maybe bigger brakes ect...

Z18XE.. ill see if i can do a swap for a x20xev down at the local wreckers.. if i was going too rebuild all i would need is a head gasket kit and new piston rings.. maybe flat top pistons

go see bennets, grab a c22sel but ;), may aswell go for the xtra 4kw ova the x20xev :D.

but the z18xe is a good motor, you would be goin from 92kw to either 100kw x20xev or c20sel, or 104kw c22sel.

if you can rebuild it urself, i would say do the rebuild ;). maybe some cams?? ect... remap, intake n exhaust, less hassle n just as much power ;).

it hasnt been actaully said but yeah, the TS never had the 20xe

if you've found something mentioning that being in an astra, its probably refering to the astra F as the gsi version had the 2.0L engine

i got offered from a panel beater $7,500 if i got the new bumper sprayed and angeleyes in.. the engines not too bad its the piston rings loosing about 500ml of oil a week if driven hard.. will you just want the body no engine or gearbox or just want the whole car
