Yep, you will need to change the gearbox.
Have you got a budget in mind?
At the end of it, you're coing to have an Astra city with turbo engine. None of the extras, interior, suspension or brakes.
If you're like me, you're not too concered about re-sale value, but the project still doesn't make alot of financial sense.
I like a challenge too, but in this case I really think buying an SRi-T is the way to go.

What the hells the point? Not only will you need to upgrade your gearbox you will need alot of $$$ to complete it and at the end of the day all you have is a standard zlet to show for it....

Better of selling your car and using that money to upgrade. Atleast that way you get the full package (leather, alloys, engine, gearbox, etc):cool:

I personally would love to do the Z20LET conversion for my corsa too. Its extremely popular over in the UK but like most of the guys mentioned, the amount of money you have to spend is just not worth taking that route. Rather, sell your car and buy something with the turbo strapped to the engine already.

If i had the money though, the barina would get a Z20LET without a doubt, just to see the look on peoples faces when a barina just sneezed past them. Especially dirty commonwhore drivers that think their car is GOD

the number of times this topic has come up time n time again is not funny anymore.

buy a sri-t and spend the $$$ on modding that up - the rewards r far greater.

if its purely a challenge n u got plenty of mula.....go for it. n buy some asprin or pandol while ur at it. ;)
