Spotted this today on Carsales:

Thought "fark thats a good deal", but then looked closer.

The front bar is aftermarket (it's not an SRi Turbo or SRi front bar) is that the Irschmer front bar?

Also noticed the lack or SRI badges on the sides and the rear.

Perhaps the most tell tale signs however, the engine bay shot, and the basic Astra TS seats!

Tell me I'm not going crazy, isn't that just a base TS Astra 1.8L with a front bar?

Im pretty sure that is a 1.8, With dominator front bar.

yep you are right.
engine is a 1.8 and its either a sxi or something as the sri has bucket styled seats not bench seats like that one^^

Off the top of my head doesn't the SXI have the same rear spoiler that the SRi had in that era?

The Talon front bar looks kinda poxy without the side skirts to match it...

i dont think its even an sxi cos they had electric windows and the fabric of the seats were different, i think its a city

city model never came out as a 2 door i think.
the only 2 door model besides the sri models was the sxi.

I think there was a 3dr city, in fact I'm pretty sure I saw one today!

yeah i think your right carsales research reveals 3 models with the 1.8 motor.

The SXi model didn't exist back in 2002 and neither did the Turbo models.
The Sri 2.2L in that year would have had the bigger rear wing as well.

false advertising :eek:

it looks horrible with just the dominator front bar n no matching side or rear skirts to go with it.

it doesn't have a proper front foglight switch.

power nothing.

...and looking at the engine bay - it looks like a 1.8l.....just as everyone else pointed out.

owner probably thinks he has a 2.2l astra!!! hahaha.
maybe the car came with the wrong manual!!!

Saw an SXI today, it has same rear spoiler as the SRi does in that era.

and CLASSIC , CD and i think CDX, but all of them have power windows.
my classic sedan came with front power windows only, rear was winders. but i upgraded to rear power too before i took delivery.
i too think that bar looks crap on that car, front on pic looks hot, but others suck.

pics are too blurry to see what the badge under the astra badge says. doesnt really look like 1.8 though. maybe someone changed the badge too...
