See if you can get a UV filter and Polariser filter for it.
Not sure what you can get for them.

I was just going to ask that lol becuase I took more of your advice Pauly (thankyou mega mate) and I bought a UV filter for $19 and a polarizing filter for $49 and a tripod. (on order till tuesday , I'm so impatient lol) Also what else do you recommend I should have as an essential?

Yeah the filters fit ontop of the lens.
UV filter TBH is more to protect the actual lens itself, but cuts out some of the UV rays.

Polariser filter (stole this from ebay)

- to remove distracting reflection (off car wind screen, pool of water, window or metallic surfaces etc),
- to improve/increase contrast, such as to deepen the blue sky or autumn foliage
- to cut down the shutter speed for creative photography, such as to achieve the silky-like waterfall

It pretty much richens the image.

they use a 46mm filter.
the filter screws onto the lens itself.
dont get a 52mm filter with step up adaptor from 46mm.
the lens will not retract and you will damage your camera ;)

Hoya do a range of filters in that size, b&w, uv, cir-polariser etc etc

hope this helps mate

cheers peter

Seems fine. All the pics I've taken at sunset have no noise at all and when I learn how to edit them properly I wont introduce noise either :D

so how much you end up paying all up including all accessories and stuff.

Camera $649, UV filter $19, Polarising filter $49, Carry bag $25, 4GB SDHC card $19 and I already had a fully adjustable tripod from the Video Camera but I have seen good ones at JB-Hifi for around $100-$150 and they look decent too. So all up you'd probably be forking out around $900 for a basic setup. Also you can buy lense adaptor and close-up lense and other lenses for it
