Well it's about time they got rid of that fugly rear end, Renault have been putting on some of their cars for quite some time now...

This one looks much better, I really like the rear look of this new model :)

Front end looks dodgy though, can't make a final call until better pics or see it in the flesh...

Those wheels are making me spin looking at them  not a fan of those at all !

O/A good job, much better than any previous model :)

Exactly what i thought, they finally got around to fixing the rear to something that looks stunning, and they put a dodgy front end on instead...does that mean the next model will be good from both ends?

Hahahaha LOL  we can only hope...

Like you, I'm really liking this new Megane' rear, hopefully the front is better in real life...

The sorta hunched over shape of the rear make me think brera...anyone else get that vibe? or am i insane (quite possible)

Most definitely - yes, was thinking that myself before when looking at it, it does have a Brera look to it from that side/back on shot...

Certainly helps...

Then again a lowering will make any car look better :)

it looks like the rear wheel arch sits significantly lower than the front one

optical illusion?? the lines of the car make it appear so

Looks like the rear visability is worse than the AH (and I didn't think that was possible)

It's definately... different

Rearward visibility from a TS vert is even worse than any AH...

Problem solved with a rear view cam, if this new Megane comes with a multifunction screen either standard or option like most other new cars, it'll be easy enough to hook one up :)

Another thing I noticed looking at this car again today, it reminds me a little of the new Volvo hatch and seems to have grown quite a bit in size over the current Megane...:skep:

Problem solved by keeping the roof down

Thankyou kind sir, there's a mega amount of time, effort, work, $$$ and love I've put into that thing to get it just the way I like it, so it's always a pleasure for me when other people also get a buzz out of it too...:)

If you do a search there should be larger snaps of those same pics in my sig. hanging around somewhere on the forum, otherwise hopefully sometime soon I'll pull my finger out and do a proper profile thread on it in the members rides section :)

I've got Pauly itching and eager to do a photo session with his excellent camera kit, so even I look forward to that one :)

Speaking of verts, I wonder how this new Megane would look like as a CC variant, ie: hard top coupe/convertible ?? pretty good me thinks...:arf:

Any Photoshop pros here wanna give it a go :)

2 ppl here at worked have owned ren's.. one a megane and the other a clio sport.. Both have complained that the servicing was hideously expensive :p

Still, an interesting looking design, at least renault can never be accused of making bland looking cars.

Fair effort there, that's a bit neater...makes you wonder why some manufactures can't simply just make the vehicles more attractive, it'll even work with all the other mandatory design requirements :rollyeys1:

Because beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I (and others) think the GTR is a rather "unattractive" overall design. I don't here howls from people for Nissan to redesign it :P

I think the MPS3/Mazda 3 is an ungainly redesign.... but Mazda obviously thinks it will sell. Judging by sales of the previous 307 (which I would say started this styling genre) it probably will sell well!

True that, but I was just going with the majority vote on this new Megane, as most who've commented, like the new Mazda 3 dislike the front end...

You'd think then, that the reaction from most people within the company or from focus groups they get in to pass judgement would've echoed the same sentiments and maybe they could make the part of it that dosn't appeal to most a little nicer :rollyeys1:
