The Chevrolet Spark will more than likely be the next generation Barina if Holden don't return to the Opel Corsa. The Spark is to take the place of the Chev Aveo (GMDAT Gentra) which is the current TK Holden Barina.

Nah that's an acutal car. It's actually one the cars featured in Tranformers 2, but the one in T2 is done up a bit.

BARFFFFF!!!!!!

Does not work for me one bit, sorry to say this, being an ST owner and all, but even the stuff Ford is putting out in the small to mid sized market craps on that thing. However all to their own and just because some don't like it does not mean anything, some people might just find it right for them . Guess that is what makes us human and have varied tastes.

Too much going on for me, very over styled. Should look better in the metal thou, and Transformers 2.

My thoughts from those pics:

Rear view - hideous...

Side/Front view - not bad, alot of Mazda 2 there IMO...

Interior - very nice, again alot of new Mazda 3 there, especially the centre console and dash on the passenger side...

Another one to pass final judgement on when seen in the metal :)

The Spark is the replacement for the Matiz (remember that!)

The next Barina is still in development and will be larger than the Spark.

+ 1 most definitely

IMO those smart cars are the worst looking vehicle I've probably ever laid eyes on, I cringe whenever I see one on the roads, would not want to be in one of those in a pile up either !!!!

Has been written in articles as being the car to replace the Aveo...

Those articles are incorrect. This IS the replacement for the Matiz, not the Aveo.

Why would GM replace the Aveo when the updated model only just came out?

GM previously announced that the Spark will be sold essentially unchanged across the world. Sales will start in Europe featuring 1.0 and 1.2-liter 16-valve four-cylinder double overhead camshaft gasoline engines, delivering excellent fuel efficiency and low emissions.

1.0 and 1.2 liter engines are the same size as the current Matiz/Spark

when the Spark arrives in the U.S. a larger engine will be standard, most likely GM’s 1.6-liter Ecotec four.

From the 'examiner'. Will be interesting to see where the Spark fits into the range since there are a lot of differing reports.

Why would GM replace the Aveo when the updated model only just came out?

Because the update is only just a face lift and the basic car dates back to 2003! So would be due for a full new model.

would take a corsa D any day over that

You can... got to a Fiat dealer and buy a Punto. Same chassis :)

I like it... I told you the all the Barina would become a better car. The recent update has already proven that because it now has a 4 star crash rating.

A larger engine will be standard in the US as a car with 1.0 and 1.2 engines would never sell there.
