mazda mx-5

anyone know much or anything about the maxda mx-5.. my brother seems pretty keen on them and is wanting to get one for a new project to turbo.. we took one for a test drive and it seemed to have less go than my astra, but we reckons he can get 150kw out of it

think about it tho.. ur in a mazda mx-5.... 180kw.. light as anything, u line up next to something like a VYSS and the bloke says "u poof" and u either smoke him.. or he has a VERY hard time losing u

I own a Mx5, yeah it is possible to get that power, mek, its called mxmania not mx heaven. If he really wants that power he should have a talk with the guys there. I would consider getting the current model NC.

As for Turbo MX5 making 150kw. Mazda Australia released the SP a limited edition model modified in Australia that makes 150kw Stock.

I think it's better to get the low boost SE model that mazda released from 04-05 and enhance it to 150kw with a few mods rather than turbo a N/A model.

anyway, I like the current model NC, just a pity their isn't a turbo model- as in N/A form they are pretty gutless.

I remember the MX5 SP Turbo Australia did, it was actually much better than the JDM Mazdaspeed Turbo MX5. The company also did the RX7 SP.

The chassis is really wasted on chick’s, it’s a shame they can’t do a blokes version, it would sell like hot cakes! There is no other small rear wheel drive car on the market unless you want to spend huge money.

MPS version, with the 190kw turbo would be killer!

I was meaning the MPS6/3 engine in an MX5. Surely they would sell like hot cakes with the right body kit and wheels as the latest shape MX5 is a good looker.

i think just a turbo version of the existing 2.0L engine will suffice.

I mean the car is very light as it is, so you don't need 190kw.

If they can get 150-160kW, it will be very fast.
