View Full Version : Nurburgring mirrors on my car?

Very random thought...

What do people think of the carbon fibre look mirrors from the Nurburgring on a black AH Turbo?

Please don't bring up the 'it's not an HSV, you can't/shouldn't' stuff. I just want to know if people think it would look good on mine:rolleyes:

I'm not sure if it'd look crap, or if it'd be a cool subtle difference

Cool subtle difference!
If you want look up the Stealth 888's...they had carbon fibre mirrors, carbon fibre grille and carbon fibre rear chrome strip. But will show you what they look like on a black car.
I say go for it!

Actually just check out Azza's car...black with nurburg mirrors...

may just be the photos but those to me look like faded plastic mirrors, imo painted would be better :(

If you do decide to I can vouch for Darren's (d2tuck's) work - he always has a set of the mirrors up on ebay (http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=carbon+astra&_sacat=See-All-Categories). Unlike the actual 'ring mirrors they're not just stickers either.

Not a fan of carbon fibre anything. Nice if painted over but not that cheap checkered look.

Carbon Looks good as a contrast, not so good against a glossy black.

Do people actually make a big deal about VXR parts on not HSV badged Astra’s??

IMO carbon fibre finish bits on black cars is ok...they'll blend in well and look good.

They tend to look a bit out of place/odd or not a good match up in my eyes with some lighter colours, eg: white or yellow cars.

I wouldn't be worried about genuine HSV or not, as I'm sure you can get carbon bits for an AH or any car type aftermarket anyway !

My main objection to carbon fibre parts is their cost, ie: if they're genuine carbon fibre, they can cost a small fortune which far outweighs any benifit they may give you and if they end up looking out of place also, it's a total waste of money all together IMO.

I'm just toying with ideas...

Or there's the matte silver look against black (obviously this one's red, but you get the idea)

I think Holden offer the matt silver finish look. I also saw it on the Opel Bodykit list..looked good on a metallic blue astra :)
Not so sure about red...try photoshop it.

All the guys in the UK buy them direct from the dealership.
So you may be able to get one to do that, and pay them for it.
Either that or try LMF? AutoVaux?

My 2c, don't get the chrome or silver mirror covers.
Either stick with the black, or get the carbon fibre. Either way the car is gonna look sex (as it already does)

I love the chrome mirrors on cars like Audi's and Jaguars but on others they just look shite

But would carbon fibre look better against a black car, or do I leave them as they are? :D
